NORTHEAST kidmin

Here at Northeast, we love our kids! We want them to learn to LOVE GOD and LOVE OTHERS! Our children's ministry is designed for kids from birth through sixth grade.

In addition to renovating our KidMin wing, we have implemented a secure check-in process where parents can quickly register their children for class. After signing in, the adult and child are both given a matching tag so we can ensure all children are safe, accounted for, and picked up by the appropriate adult.

Throughout the year, we offer traditional Bible classes and other great opportunities for our kids to learn more about the Bible and to develop their relationship with God.

KidMin Programs

Bible Classes

Bible classes are offered on Sunday morning for ages 6 months through 6th grade. From ages 2 through grade 4, we have implemented the Orange curriculum. This program follows our basic premise of LOVE GOD, LOVE OTHERS, and incorporates classroom activities with activities to complete at home. You can also become a member of our closed Facebook group that shares curriculum and provides parent support. Once kids enter grades 5 and 6, they enter a class called Power Hour. This class develops Bible studying skills in preparation for kids to graduate to our Student Ministry.

Vacation Bible School

Our Vacation Bible School is a summer 2024, three-day event that will run from June 27 through June 29 and will offer classes for our children and parents. This year, our theme is the Olympics! "Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever." 1 Corinthians 9:24-25 (NIV). Our children will learn about Apostle Paul's life through Bible stories and how he persevered through many trials to win his prize.

Our parenting classes will feature Dr. Walter Surdacki, Professor of Youth and Family Ministry at Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN, and Tracy Faber, the Clinical Director of Focus on Youth, a faith-based, non-profit agency serving southwest Ohio committed to transforming children's lives and equipping all parents with the knowledge and skills necessary to care for vulnerable children (focusonyouth.com).

Tracy will draw from her experience as a Certified Trauma and Resiliency Practitioner and Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant to present on Coping Skills Development in Children.

Dr. Surdack's research specializes in science and technology and technology and faith formation, and he has over 30 years of experience working with adolescents as a church leader and youth minister. He will speak on A GPS Faith, helping parents navigate technology successfully.

Lads to Leaders

We are raising the next generation of church leaders! Lads to Leaders/Leaderettes (L2L) is a national program designed to help our young people GROW DEEPER with knowledge and skills to become future leaders of the church. This program is open to kids from third grade through college! There is also a convention where churches meet to display their skills and knowledge through competition. You can learn more about L2L here.

Children's Worship

Children's Worship follows the same "Orange" curriculum that KidMin is using in Bible class to teach the Gospel of Jesus through Bible lessons, songs, crafts, and games. Children's Worship is for children ages 3 years old - kindergarten, with a staffed nursery available during worship service for children younger than three. Children are dismissed from the auditorium during the song before the sermon, and parents are dismissed to pick up their children during the closing song. We look forward to seeing you in Children's Worship! Please contact Paige Okada or Rebekah Simmons with any questions.
