Missions

Because of the salvation and hope found in our Savior, we are compelled to LOVE GOD, GROW DEEPER in faith, and SHARE JESUS with others. Therefore, Northeast supports both local and international missions and provides funding and resources that are essential to evangelistic and benevolent ministries. We pray these efforts will advance the gospel, welcome all seekers, and bless our world in Jesus’ name. To find out how you can get involved with any or all of these missions, please contact us.

City Gospel Mission

City Gospel Mission

City Gospel Mission (CGM) provides Christ-centered life transformation to people facing hunger, homelessness, poverty, unemployment, and addiction. City Gospel Mission helps break the cycles of poverty and despair … one life at a time. They engage, equip, and empower those in need with the spiritual, emotional, mental, and physical skills and resources needed to achieve sustainable self-sufficiency. Their programs and services focus on four key service areas: food and shelter, recovery, at-risk youth, and job readiness and placement.

Northeast partners with City Gospel Mission by sending teams of volunteers every two months to prepare and serve dinner and fellowship with residents during the meal. Teams are equipped with menu ideas and recipes, shopping lists, and financial funding in order to prepare and serve hearty and nutritious dinners to CGM. Ministry liaisons from Northeast help with planning, organization, and communication, so that serving with CGM is a rich experience and a natural next step for those who are seeking to LOVE GOD, GROW DEEPER in faith, and SHARE JESUS with others.

Focus on Youth

Focus on Youth

Focus on Youth, Inc. (FOY) exists to help the most vulnerable among us—children who have suffered abuse and neglect, experienced trauma, or struggle with behavior issues. This is a faith-based, non-profit agency committed to transforming children’s lives and equipping all parents with the knowledge and skills necessary to care for vulnerable children.

Northeast partners with FOY in the use of our facility to provide a meal and conduct training for their organization. We also host a back-to-school event complete with a cookout and supplies to start these kids off right for the school year.

Matthew 25: Ministries

Matthew 25: Ministries

The mission of Matthew 25: Ministries is to fulfill Matthew 25:34-40 by providing nutritional food to the hungry, clean water to the thirsty, clothing to the naked, affordable shelter to the homeless, medical care to the ill, and humanitarian supplies to those in need. By rescuing and reusing products from major corporations and manufacturers, Matthew 25: Ministries helps the poorest of the poor and disaster victims throughout the United States and around the world. With the help of dedicated volunteers, the goods Matthew 25 receives are processed at Matthew 25’s 200,000 square-foot facility in Cincinnati, Ohio and then shipped via forty-foot seagoing containers or by fifty-three foot semi-trailers to those in need.

The Northeast community supports Matthew 25: Ministries by regularly sending volunteers to process donated goods at their processing center. Northeast also has a clothing donation bin located on the north side of our parking lot that benefits Matthew 25: Ministries. We are so thankful for the good they do throughout the world.

Baja Missions

Camalú Mission Work, Baja California Norte, Mexico

Northeast proudly supports the good work being done in Camalú, located in Baja California Norte, Mexico. Most years, Northeast joins with other churches to send a team to complete a week long mission effort scheduled for the end of July. During this time, they complete light construction projects, such as repairing homes, carpentry projects, and painting. While there, they also prepare meals, food sets, and coordinate Bible classes and community outreach, as well as enjoy home visits within the Camalú church family. Due to the wide array of tasks completed, this mission team is cross-generational and encourages team members from high school to travel-ready adults of all ages to attend. This is a great opportunity for everyone to be the hands and feet of God! Come join us.

Hope for Haiti's Children

Hope for Haiti's Children

Hope for Haiti's Children (HFHC) is a Christian nonprofit organization that serves impoverished children and families across Haiti through orphan care, child sponsorship, and vocational and leadership training. HFHC has deep roots with the church at Northeast and is a trusted organization with a stellar history of transparency and accountability. Northeast partners with HFHC in numerous ways, and we pray these efforts will advance the gospel, welcome all seekers, and bless our world in Jesus’ name. You may learn more at Hope for Haiti's Children.

Throughout the year, Northeast members partner with HFHC in the following ways:

  • Many Northeast members participate in HFHC's child sponsorship program by donating $36/month to provide a quality Christian education to a Haitian child in need.
  • Each fall, members at Northeast (and churches across the country) pack and fill Christmas Joy Boxes to be sent to Haitian children sponsored through Hope for Haiti's Children.
  • For many years, Northeast members have joined HFHC on short-term missions in a variety of roles: clinical and support staff at the annual childcare clinic, counselors and Bible teachers at summer youth camps, and engineers and workers for various construction projects.

Tai for the Savior - Thailand

Tai for the Savior - Thailand

For more than 30 years, Northeast has been blessed to help support Patinya and Penjai Thitathan and their ministry, Tai for the Savior. Tai for the Savior began as a small campus ministry at Ramkhamhaeng University in 1988, and its influence now extends beyond Thailand into Laos. This ministry focuses on teaching and leadership training, especially among young adults and students.

Over the years, Tai for the Savior’s various ministries, such as the Ramkhamhaeng Christian Center and the Bangkok Servant Leadership Institute, have brought hundreds of people in Southeast Asia to Christ. Many of these new Christians have gone on to serve at congregations throughout the region.

In addition to his other duties, Patinya also travels for much of the year, visiting various churches in the rural provinces of Thailand to teach, support, and encourage Christians there. The majority of Thai people are Buddhist (there are about 100 churches of Christ in Thailand with approximately 3,000 believers total), so the work of Patinya, Penjai, and their coworkers has been critical in teaching and encouraging Thai and Laotian Christians.
